On January 12, 2010, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti near its capital, Port-au-Prince.
SOS Children’s Villages has been active in Haiti for over 30 years where we provide family-based care for orphaned children in two SOS Villages and assist thousands of others through Family Strengthening Programs. Our Children’s Villages in Santo (near Port-au-Prince) and in Cap Haitien withstood the earthquake and after-shocks, and have been serving as emergency relief centers ever since.
